Habib is a co-founder and the Chief Investment Officer of V-Square Quantitative Management, a Chicago-based multi-asset boutique specializing in quantitative and systematic portfolios. He founded V-Square, convinced that to win tomorrow, the economy and companies must ably adapt to fast-paced, evolving macro trends. This presents an opportunity for long-term value creation for investors.
Habib’s expertise includes comprehensive knowledge of the asset management value chain and ecosystem, capital markets, global regulatory and operational frameworks, governance, risk management, and economic and regulatory perspectives. Over a 25-year career in financial markets and management, he has overseen and managed over $20 billion across asset classes, investing directly in 45+ countries. He successfully led key strategic initiatives to exceed clients’ expectations and drove profitable growth.
His prior corporate experience includes leadership roles at global financial services companies in Europe and the U.S. – including HSBC, Emerging Global Advisors (EGA), JP Morgan, and Vident Investment Advisory (VIA)–, where he strategically led investment infrastructure transformation and drove profitable growth through scalability while delivering solutions to investors across the globe. He is a Visiting Professor for the University of Chicago, Master of Financial Mathematics’ Project Lab, and a former Adjunct Professor for New York University, NYU-SPS Faculty Finance and Law Programs.
Habib is the Chair of the Board of the French American Chamber of Commerce Chicago (FACC), serves on the Advisory Board of Kalima North America Inc., and the Board of Urban Initiatives (UI), a Chicago-based not-for-profit organization. He frequently advises, speaks, and writes about macroeconomics, industry trends and challenges, and risks facing US and global companies.
Habib has earned his MS, Quantitative Finance, magna cum laude, University of Rennes, France; an MS, Statistics & Data Science, magna cum laude, ENSAI, France; and a BS, Physics, with honors, Sorbonne University Group, France. He is an NACD Directorship Certified©, National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), a Certified Investment Fund Director (CIFD) by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland (IOB), and a National Certified Financial Risk Manager, FRM© with the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
