Bio

Habib is a co-founder and the Chief Investment Officer of V-Square Quantitative Management, a global asset management firm focused on research and innovation, created in partnership with Valor Equity Partners. He co-founded V-Square, convinced that to win tomorrow, the economy and companies must ably adapt to fast-paced evolving macro trends. This presents an opportunity for long-term value creation for investors.


V-Square specializes in financial innovation and thematic portfolios (Structural Macroeconomics Trends, Tech & Society).

A twenty-three plus year industry veteran, Habib has worked for global financial services companies in Europe and the U.S., where he led investment infrastructure transformation and drove profitable growth through scalability. A champion of innovation, he combines a science academic background with an extensive experience in investment management and global regulatory frameworks. He successfully led key strategic initiatives throughout his career and has managed over $20 billion across core asset classes.

Prior to V-Square, Habib held senior leadership roles in investment and business development at HSBC Global Asset Management, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, J.P. Morgan, and more recently Vident Investment Advisory. Furthermore, he was an Adjunct Professor at New York University SPS Finance and Law program from 2012 to 2018, and regularly works with and lectures at the University of Chicago MS Program in Financial Mathematics (FinMath). Habib possesses comprehensive knowledge of the capital markets, their regulatory and operational frameworks and is recognized as an expert of the asset management value chain and ecosystem.

Habib is a member of the Advisory Board of The Journal of Impact & ESG Investing. He serves on the Executive Committee of the board of the French American Chamber of Commerce Chicago (FACC), on the board of Urban Initiatives, and is actively involved in initiatives to guide entrepreneurs, professionals, and students in the US, Europe, and Africa.

Habib regularly publishes thought leadership pieces and is often featured as a speaker and panelist in conferences addressing the financial industry’s challenges, the emerging/growing macro trends, and discussing practical approaches to effectively adapt to transitions.

Habib is a Certified Investment Fund Director (CIFD) by the CIFD Institute and is National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directorship Certified™. He holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation, certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Habib received a BS in Physics from the Faculty of Sciences and Medical Studies of the Sorbonne University Group in Paris, France. He also holds an MS in Statistics and Data Science, Applied Mathematics and Economics from the French National School of Statistics and Information Analysis, ENSAI, and an MS in Quantitative Finance from the University of Rennes, France.
